The Community Fund of North Miami Dade, Inc. (CFNMD), is the financing arm of the OLCDC and has been certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) through the U.S. Department of Treasury since 2003. The CFNMD was established to address the need for making affordable loans available to low and moderate income households with limited credit and/or collateral that is required to obtain traditional financing.
Since its inception, CFNMD has utilized resources derived from the public and private sectors to assist directly and/or indirectly distressed and low wealth households within its targeted communities. This has been accomplished through a program of lending and investing in housing, real estate development projects and other commercial enterprises which are undertaken for the revitalization of neighborhoods and communities. As a result of each loan financed, the CFNMD is addressing the need for decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households.
