Welcome to the OLCDC Homebuyer Education Program. Our program has served over 5,000 families. Now that you know you want to own a home, we can help you develop a plan of action to get there quicker. OLCDC’s homebuyer education workshops are designed to help participants understand:
- How to build/repair individual credit
- How to qualify for a mortgage, and meet homeowner responsibilities
- The Purchase Contract, closing requirements and mortgage application
- The role of the real estate agent, inspector, title company and others
During each workshop, attendees have the opportunity to hear from industry professionals who will guide them through the various phases of the home buying process. At the end of the workshop, each attendee receives a certificate of achievement, which can be used when applying for down payment assistance or other subsidy programs. The certificate is good for 12 months from the date of issuance.
Workshops are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The workshop is free, but advance registration is required. Be sure to confirm the location. Light morning and afternoon refreshments served.

Please bring a valid photo I.D., proof of income (i.e., 2011 W-2, 2 paystubs, benefits letter) and a copy of your pre-qualification letter if you have received one. These documents are required to receive your certificate.
