Senior accountant

Position Title: Senior Accountant

Classification: Exempt

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer



The Senior Accountant (Real Estate) is responsible for ensuring that accounting activities are completed in accordance with established policy and procedures and in compliance with Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards.  Also, responsible for adhering to internal controls designed to protect the agency’s financial assets.




  • Monthly financial preparation for subsidiaries, properties and funds.

  • Verify and post invoices, credit card charges and bank deposits and AHC’s.

  • Reviewing A/P for processing

  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts.

  • Prepare journal entries.

  • Bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for management.

  • Record and process receivables and payments.

  • Work directly with assistant controller and controller on audit, month and year-end closings.






  • Experience in financial statement preparation, reconciliations and journal entries.

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or associate degree with equivalent experience.

  • Excellent communications skills.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented.

  • Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills.

  • Meet all assigned deadlines.

  • Previous work experience in Commercial Real Estate.

  • Must be proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office products.
