About The Event
Created by O'Miami and the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation, the Opa-locka Light District is a compelling and creative public art installation that has transformed ten city street lamps along Opa-Locka Boulevard into poetry projection devices.
The poems gathered can be found projected onto the walls and sidewalks of several buildings. Below, you'll find a map of where each poem is placed. Each poem addresses topics of light, democracy, public safety, transportation, and infrastructure.
Learn more about how this project was created and the stories behind the poems along this guided walking tour during Miami Art Week. Be sure to use the hashtag #OpalockaLightDistrict when sharing your photos on social media so we can see them!
