Early giving starts Nov. 14th

Give Miami Day is one of the biggest annual giving events in the United States. This year, donors can begin giving Monday, November 14th, at 12:01 a.m. and end at 11:59 p.m. on November 17, 2022.
On Give Miami Day, anyone can make a philanthropic impact by supporting nonprofit organizations like the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation.
Throughout the day, individuals may make a charitable gift directly on givemiamiday.org. The Miami Foundation and our partners will maximize the community's generosity by making a bonus gift for every donation between $25 and $10,000 received on November 14th - 17th on givemiamiday.org/olcdc.
meet phyllis
Phyllis Thomas is a grandmother who cares for two grandchildren full time while working full time and taking classes part time. Low-income, high cost of living, and family stressors became overwhelming for Mrs. Thomas. She became the primary caregiver for several of her grandchildren and husband, who was unable to work due to illnesses.
OLCDC was able to help Mrs. Thomas find some financial relief through rental assistance. In addition, she received personalized gifts through Box Joy, a program we designed to promote family bonding time in low-income families.
When you give on Give Miami Day, you help families stay together, lighten their loads and secure their future. You will be helping people like Phyllis and her children who have experienced great loss.
